APRIL NEWSLETTER

I very much hope that you're all safe and sane, the jury is out in our house, definitely safe but not so sure about sane!

We are still posting out daily as normal, anything ordered before 12 noon willl be despatched the same day. As a two person family business your support is very important to us and we'd like to say a huge thank you for that support, it means so much. As we live and work together and all parcels are prepaid online the risk of contracting the virus is mercifully low and we will continue to serve you and send supplies to save your sanity for as long as it's safe and legal to do so. Our suppliers are doing a brilliant job of keeping stock moving, apart from Ashford equipment. The UK distributor has been unable to stay open so what we have available on the website is it for now, and we have removed the option to order items that are not in stock. If what you want is out of stock I can add you to a mailing list to let you know when the situation changes but as you'll appreciate we can't put a date on this.

One new product for you this month, a lovely pinky brown colour of prefelt known as Mink, I'm rather taken with it.If you take a look at the specials page I have also added a few odd bits there too to try and list anything we have that you cannot come in to buy.

So many of the wool shows for this year have been cancelled but there is a lot of online activity. We are participating in virtual wool shows and branching into live Instagram and YouTube videos. Do let us know what you think of these changes, it's such a new way of interacting for all of us!

SPECIAL MARKETPLACE FEATURE

In the current circumstances we thought it would be good to spread the love and introduce you to three of our friends and fellow yarn show vendors that you may not be aware of.

Tricia and Ian Fothergill run The Knitting Gift Shop, are very dear friends and have a lovely selection of yarn, yarn bowls, kits, gift hampers, shawl pins, accessories - you get the idea. Tricia writes all the patterns herself, Ian is a dab hand at making stitch markers and the yarn colours are inspired by their local Weardale. They are giving away one of their knitted brooch or knitted bracelet kits with every order this month, it’s a way of hopefully bringing a bit of cheer in these difficult times so do please visit their shop.

The very lovely Chrissie Menzies is a Textile Artist living and working on a small Montgomeryshire farm in Mid Wales. From her home, Chrissie produces wonderful art to wear and home accessories using hand-dyed fibres from small artisan producers. The range includes handmade wraps, scarves, bags, rucksacks and brooches along with Eco Printed scarves and wraps. Indulge yourself or buy a present for a loved one. When the virus is a thing of the past you could book onto a workshop with Chrissie. Visit her shop now.

Finally and by no means least is Laili and the team from Emily Foulds, we love meeting up with them at shows, such fun! They are proud to stock yarns from Danish yarn producers ISAGER. Isager produce beautiful yarns which can be used for knitting, crochet and weaving. They design beautiful patterns which are a wonderful addition to any wardrobe. From an array of books I thought it worth mentioning 52 Weeks of Sock - £34 for this wonderful book. This book has pulled together some of the most talented knitting designers in the world who designed sock patterns to keep the avid knitter busy for years to come. Check out their website to see the choice of sock yarns for your next project.  Available for free UK delivery.

Remember, buying is not the only way to support our small businesses, like us on FaceBook, follow us on Instagram, mention us to your friends, it all helps to get us noticed.  Thank you

Take care, keep well, stay sane
