Felt for schools

If you're considering felt making with your students give us a call and  we can post your fibres before invoicing you. All we require is an order number and an email for billing.

Sign up to here to receive our monthly newsletter about offers, new products and items of woolly interest. We won't share your details with anyone else and you can unsubscribe at any time.

Have you started crafting for Christmas yet? It's not so far away if you like making your presents and now is the time to start as the nights are drawing in and before you get rushed and stressed. It's also a good time to start compiling wish lists to share with family and friends. Do you want more fibres, a wheel, loom or spindle? Let them know what your heart desires and the stash requires!

We're continuing to add to our Ashford list of equipment but if you can't find what you're looking for just get in touch and we'll see what we can do for you. As promised last month, we do have a few turkish style spindles in stock with more on their way. They are hand made in Cumbria and a joy to spin with. Simon did make some navajo spindles but most were sold at Yarndale so you'll need to be patient while he makes more. On equipment, we've added a concave acryclic diz which makes it even more confortable to hold and use than our wooden one.

One of our Bergschaf suppliers is retiring so there will be some colour changes over the next month. Some colours will be discontinued once stock is exhausted, there will be some replacements (not exact colour matches) and there are some new colours on the way including a couple of guest natural shades in stock now. If you love them we may keep them so let us know what you think. You can see one of the new greens, the new navy and guest granite and read more on our Bergschaf page.
Our customers are so nice. Lynne said "I ordered yesterday and received my order just now. Your customer service is amazing." and Nicola said "Can I just say, what a fabulous service. My order arrived at 9.30 the day after I placed it!! Quicker than amazon prime".  Thank you so much Lynne and Nicola, the feedback is much appreciated and makes us very happysmileysmiley

Bring Back Blaise Wool Festival - Bradford, W.Yorks, 3rd February 2019

Saint Blaise or Bishop Blaise is the patron saint of woolcombers. In the 19th century Bradford held an annual procession to celebrate the saints day, next year it'll be holding a wool fair insteadsmiley. As ever, if you're coming to a show and there's something you'd particularly like then get in touch beforehand so we can make sure we have it with us.

Please keep your images coming in, everyone loves to see you work on our gallery and FaceBook pages. So much so, that I've decided to run the woolly advent again this year on FaceBook.  Every day during advent I will post an image which will contain the number, in some way, of the date . You will then be invited to post your own images along with a link to your page, instagram or website. Your own image must also contain the date in some manner.

You can be as creative as you wish. For example;on December 3rd you might post an image of 3 balls of handspun yarn, or on the 22nd you mght post a picture of 2 needle felted ducks! If you'd like to join in then start collecting your images now. You are limited to only one image per day but may post as many days as you wish and may link your posts to your etsy or your website. Only one person (the magnificent Paulene Bryant) posted every day last year, let's see if a few more of you can manage it this year. So get your thinking caps on and I'll go away and ponder on a suitable reward for anyone who manages to post every day, such staying power deserves rewarding. It's going to be great fun and not a bad way to raise awareness of your business if you run one..

Take care
