JUNE NEWSLETTER

It seems an age since we last spoke but I sincerely hope this newsletter finds you all well and just the right amount of insane. The government has given the green light for all non essential businesses like ours to re-open next week. As from Tuesday 16th June you will be able to click and collect from our premises in Addingham, West Yorkshire. We'll be open for collection 9am to noon Tuesday to Friday but we will not be open for browsing. Baby steps folks, we'd like to see how this goes first and make sure we have all the necessary precautions in place before we fully welcome you back.

I have so many new things to tell you about though! First up are 4 luxury fibre blends, camel/silk, alpaca/silk, yak/silk and merino/alpaca/camel/silk. The yak/silk is my new favourite, so soft!! I know I should be selling it but some just had to come home with me. Charlotte has dyed more fibres and you can find Blue Faced Leicester curls and a couple of Masham curls here. We hope to bring you more of this next month.

Sometimes the office has to be tidied and if you take a look at our specials page you'll see that we have; cut laps, prefelt offcuts, craft packs and some preloved books available. The wet felting fulling block is back in stock and I should have another delivery of washboards by the end of the month, including more of the new globe shape. Needle Felting for Beginners and The Weaving Explorer are just two of the new books we have in stock to tempt you so take a browse around and see what else is new.

This last week saw us very happy to take delivery of Venne organic cotton yarn. It is absorbent, has a matt finish and is a good choice for weaving clothing, tablecloths, tea towels, table runners etc. It may also be used to ply with when spinning .There are some lovely colours in the range, we're still waiting on a few to arrive but we have most of them already and it gave me great pleasure arranging the shades on the shelves. Simple pleasures, I'm sure you understand.

There are no real wool shows in our immediate future but you can all join in with the virtual shows and live sessions. So let me tell you what's coming up....
Exploring ArtyFest is happening across on FaceBook on Saturday 27th June. Our friends at ArtyBird Carnforth are arranging a day of demonstrations, live Q&A sessions, a tour of their facilities and videos from supporters like ourselves.  During the same weekend it's WoolFest Online which we're really looking forward to. All your favourite suppliers will be participating and we'll also be running a FaceBook and Instagram live session on Saturday 27th at 11am where we'll be unveiling new limited availability products so if you want to see it first you'll need to join us at 11am.

Facebook and Instagram live sessions on Saturday 11th July and Saturday 22nd August both at 11am. In July we'll be offering tips on warping your looms and in August we'll be discussing different types of fibres and why you might choose one over another. In both sessions you'll be able to ask any questions, not just ones relevant to the subjects above, and ask us to show you any items you'd like a closer look at. From being quite nervous of these events I'm now enjoying them as I enjoy the interaction that a live session allows, Simon has never been nervous of them so we both hope you'll join us.

We're loving your responses to our weekly show and tell on facebook and instagram where you can join in and show us work in progress, finished projects or just what's made you smile this week.. Keep crafting, keep slighty mad and keep smiling.

Take care

Angela
