FEBRUARY NEWSLETTER

I'm starting this month with an important date for your diary. We will be open for visitors on Saturday 28th February 9.30am - 1.30pm so if you'd like to come along to top up your supplies, squish a bit of fibre, try equipment or ask questions all three of us will be at your disposal. Simon will be doing a wheel clinic too if your Ashford wheel needs a little tlc. Other wheel clinic dates are  Friday 13th March, Thursday 9th April

My fibre preparation and beginner's spinning wheel sessions are proving very popular so you'll be pleased to hear I have just released two saturday dates, one in May and one in August. There will also be more feltmaking dates to follow as soon as I have a room booked.

Charlotte's blend of the month is Blueberry Muffin (love the name). A gorgeous combination of Jacob and Manx Loaghtan in natural browns and blue and purple Corriedale wools. This is a good all rounder for feltmakers and spinners but is especially good for new spinners. Manx Loaghtan is a rare breed wool. We have a lovely bright pink sari silk fibre to brighten up these grey days, I thik it would look perfect blended with a natural brown British wool.

Simon is very busy this month as he has pledged to walk 100 miles during February in aid of Cancer Research. If you'd like to know more or make a contribution, however small, take a look here. There are daily updates on our social media stories and both Charlotte and I are lending our support by walking along whe we can. He'll even be sponsoring himself by the mile once it's completed.

The weavers amongst you may be aware of the very talented loom builder Don Porritt, you may even be aware that Don is retiring. He has a number of weaving related items for sale e.g. steel reeds, warp  sticks etc. at very reasonable prices. If you'd like to know more please contact Don direct on 01943 878429.
