Nostepinne is a Scandinavian word that means nest stick and is a wooden tool used for winding centre pull balls of yarn. With a little practice you'll soon be making lovely flat bottomed yarn cakes. If you want to ply a single yarn on itself, wind it onto the nostepinne to create a centre pull ball then you can take the centre yarn end and the external yarn end and ply them together into one yarn.
