Sett checker

The sett checker weaving tool is easy to use and has a handy hole to allow you to hang it on your loom if desired.

We all have yarns without bands where we're not sure of the size and which reed would suit it best. With the sett checker all you have to do is wrap the yarn around between the teeth which mimic the heddles/reed sizing and choose the size which will give you the fabric you're after. There's even room to needle weave in a little weft and see if your colour combo works.
