OCTOBER NEWSLETTER

Hi All. We're starting the autumn with a number of workshops for you including:wheel spinning (as requested), drop spindle spinning and wet felted pots. You'll find all of these, with more to come, under our workshops page. Let us know if there's something you'd like us to run which we haven't yet added.

Simon will be running further wheel clinics on Thursday 23rd October 9am to noon and on our Open Day on Saturday 25th October 10am - 2pm so do pop along if your Ashford wheel is in need of some TLC. The whole family will be there on the Open Day so if you want to have a go on our wheels or looms, have some questions, or just want to squish fibres, we'd love to see you. Angela will have one of the new curved washboards for those who are interested to see and if we're really lucky, we may have the new stock in to sell.

Our limited edition, British Wool Fibre Advent Calendars are selling well so don't delay if you want to bag one for yourself or a loved one. A whole twenty four days of scrummy British fibres, 25g each day. We've held the price to £75 again this year which also includes free UK postage.

Last month I said I'd try out the carded Romney for making pumpkins - I was right, it works really well.  If you're making for autumn we'd love to see your makes so don't forget to share. Mine is on social media today. We've sourced two more spinning chairs, which have been given the once over by Simon, and which will be on social media shortly. They both have beautiful carvings and are a good height.

Back, by popular demand, is our fabulous Merino/Bamboo Swallowtail blend which is kept company by three brand new ones. Glaze (BFL / Bamboo),  Moonbeam (Merino / Tussah Silk) and Peaklands (Merino / BFL) These and more can be found on our Blends page.We have lots and lots of new Russian style spindles in stock, in some wonderful native woods. In fact we have a really good variety of supported spindles right now. Finally, but not least, is Hebridean wool tops. Back in stock for the celebration of British Wool this month.

Upcoming shows -

Dumfries and Galloway Guild meeting on Saturday 11th October (open to non-members)

Stafford Wool Gathering, 18/19 October, Staffordshire County Showground
