DECEMBER NEWSLETTER

OK, let's start this month with some dates for your diary. The last UK posting date is Friday 19th for orders received before 11am, after that, we suggest you take a look at vouchers instead as these are emailed to you within minutes.

If you'd like to come and browse for ideas or supplies I'm pleased to announce that we will be open on Saturday 13th from 10am - 1pm.  And, we're not usually open over the Christmas period but we're giving you two extra days to visit on Monday 22nd and Monday 29th.We will be closed all other days between these dates with normal opening times resuming on Friday 2nd January 2026.

Thank you to everyone who bought one of our Fibre Advent Calendars we really hope you're enjoying opening them, For one lucky person there is just one left!

New in this month is Charollais, baby Alpaca (mmm), Shropshire and Hebridean fibres, you'll find all these listed under specials along with some of Angela's handspun yarn. If you're in the market for a preloved Ashford traditional spinning wheel we have one of those too and on social media you may also have spotted that we have two more spinning chairs for sale at just £75 each. Unusually we also have two Ashford loom stands on special offer as there was a spill of rosemary oil (by the smell of it) during delivery. Whilst the functionality is unimpeded and the loom stand is still usable, the box and part of the wood have soaked up the oil. We recommend oiling the wood before assembly so these marks may not be noticeable later.

Fresh in are the new curved washboards from Heartfelt Silks. Robbin and Harry have been working their magic again and this new shape is especially helpful when you're working the inside of 3D wet felted pieces. We will be running a post on social media about these in the near future.

If you'd like a swift but have found the cost of a wooden one prohibitive we have a number of budget friendly metal swifts which performed very well when Charlotte tested them. In stock now are lots of tahkli spindles with the coin dates spread from 1898 - 1982. Perhaps you'll find one with a date meaningful to you?

The next wheel clinic, and the last for this year, is this coming Wednesday 10th December. Don't worry these will be back next year.
