JUNE NEWSLETTER
I'm writing this to you in a heat wave because it's cooler inside having a chat! It's been a busy three weeks with three wool shows in a row and now we can have a little breather and let you know what's new and what's coming up.
The Tour de Fleece starts on 4th July and we have a few packs left for those of you looking for spinning inspiration. We also have two new blends. Folk Art is 100% Shetland in shades of red and blue and was inspired by the traditional folk art of Britain. One the day it arrived I was even wearing red and blue! Passion is a luxurious Merino/Bamboo blend perfect for spinning or felted wearables and the bright vivid colours are so uplifting.
There is a little bit of the washed Boreray fleece available and thanks to this good weather, you can expect to see more washed fleece added throughout this week. Whilst Simon and Charlotte were chatting with you at the Cumbrian Wool Gathering (thanks for stopping by) I was wrestling with a lofty Romney fleece to mention just one.
Simon has been very busy making and listing lots of Takhli spindles. If you can't see the date you're looking for, get in touch and we'll check our stash of coins to see if we have what you're after. There are more Tibetan spindles being listed as I type.
The free wheel clinics are held monthly with one coming up this Thursday 25th June. Not only can we check if your wheel is running okay and make minor adjustments we can also help with advice on fibre, tensioning or drafting. So do drop in if you'd like; your wheel looked at, advice or both.
