Felt for schools

If you're considering felt making with your students give us a call and  we can post your fibres before invoicing you. All we require is an order number and an email for billing.

An introduction to preparing and spinning your own yarn for beginners. Learn to spin on an Ashford spinning wheel or bring your own wheel along.Even if you are unable to treadle for any reason it is still possible to learn to spin, contact us to talk about using our electric spinning wheel. As we only have 1 you MUST agree this with us in advance as we don't want anyone to be disappointed on the day.

We will take you through the basics of spinning, from choosing your wool, different fibre preparations like carding and blending, how to start your spinning, drafting your wool and turning it into a plied yarn.

Borrow a wheel or bring your own - all fibres included.

We'll provide tea, coffee and biscuits to keep us going.

Cancellation policy

Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 2 weeks before the course starts after which time a refund will only be given if I can re-sell the place.
