Turkish spindle - 30g - Reclaimed Beech

This is a hand turned turkish spindle (also known as a cross arm spindle) made in Yorkshire by Simon. This spindle has square holes in the arms instead of the more conventional round holes, which prevents the arms spinning without turning the shaft. When spinning is completed the arms are removed giving a ball of yarn. It is finished with oil.

Please note that as this is reclaimed Beech there are a number of small staple holes visible in the wood.
